Original watercolor painting, 'Western Tanager in a Flowering Tree', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. The Western Tanager is a colorful orange-red, yellow, and black songbird of the mountainous regions of the western United States. A handful of tanagers breed in North America, though the bulk of these beautiful birds live and breed in the tropical regions of central and South America. I chose to paint this bird in early spring, when trees are blooming and filled with small flowers. Pink blossoms, branches, and green leaves complement this bird, as he perches for a brief rest. This painting would be perfect for the bird or nature lover, as a fine art print, or as part of the home decor, as a decorative pillow.
