Original watercolor painting, 'Rainforest Fern Impressions', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. Rainforest ecosystems are filled with life, an abundance of species and communities interacting together. I have had the fortune of visiting the Ecuador Amazon on two occasions, and I came across these delicate fern fronds on one trip. I was within the Kapawi nature preserve, walking along one of their established trails. I find beauty in all elements of nature, from the large to the small, and the shapes and patterns of this fern caught my eye. I chose to use lighter blue, green, and yellow tones in this painting, although the ground cover in rainforests is generally fairly dark, due to little direct sunlight reaching the floor. The Original is 8 x 10.5 inches, painted on 150 pound Arches cold press fine art watercolor paper. This is a very calm, peaceful painting, perfect for a more minimalist decor.
