Description
Original watercolor painting, 'Long's Peak Summer Landscape', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. This piece was inspired by a photograph I took while hiking the trail to Lake Haiyaha, in Rocky Mountain National Park, several years ago. Though I took the shot in the winter months, I decided to make this painting into a summer scene. Pine trees rise from the steep slope in the foreground, and forest can be seen covering the lower slopes of the mountain peak in the distance. Long's Peak is one of over fifty 14'ers (fourteeners) in the Colorado Rocky Mountains - peaks over 14,000 feet in elevation.
