Original watercolor painting, 'Long's Peak Autumn Landscape', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. While walking on a trail in Rocky Mountain National Park heading towards Dream Lake, there is a view of Long's Peak rising in the distance, with a stream and mixed aspen and pine forest lining the mountain slopes and meadow of the foreground. Rocks rise from various parts of the soil, covered in lichen and surrounded by ground vegetation, and the stream flows through the foreground into the receding forest in the background. This beautiful, large tract of protected wilderness lies in the Front Range of the Colorado Rockies, near the community of Estes Park. I chose to portray the season of autumn, using warm orange, yellow, olive, and magenta tones. This piece would be perfect for the hiking and nature lover, as well as those who have ascended Long's Peak - something to be proud of! Long's Peak is a 14er (fourteener), a mountain with elevation of over 14,000 feet.
