'Minnesota Birch and Bloodroot', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. Bloodroot are among the first of the small wildflowers to emerge from the soil after the long winter in northern North America deciduous forests. I came across this patch of beautiful white blooms at the base of a birch tree, in the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, in Chanhassen, Minnesota.
