Description
'Spring at the Maroon Bells', a landscape photograph by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. Believe it or not (given my multiple years of landscape photography here in Colorado!), this was my first time to encounter native dandelion wildflowers in bloom, en mass, in the meadows of the Rocky Mountains. These vivid wildflowers created a beautiful color in contrast with the bright blue sky and the aspen trees that were only beginning to leaf out. The Maroon Bells, two 14er (fourteener) mountain peaks, rise in the background. These mountains are popular hiking destinations for those wishing to summit mountains over 14,000 feet in elevation. This iconic scene is near the community of Aspen, Colorado.
