Original watercolor painting, 'Winter in Pastel', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. This was inspired by a lovely early morning photo I took while snowshoeing along a ski trail in a Colorado pine forest, near the top of a mountain. Sunlight filled the foreground and created shadows against the snow, and the forest was dark in the background. I decided to use colors I don't often use (at least in winter pieces!), with warm orange and pink pastels.
