Artist's Description
Original watercolor painting, 'Telluride Memories', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. This collage-style, colorful painting was inspired by many of the birds, butterflies, flowers, and views I saw in the mountains near Telluride, Colorado. Here, a portion of the San Miguel range of the Rocky Mountains -- some may still consider it a portion of the San Juans -- is featured in the background. These peaks include El Diente, Wilson Peak, and Mount Wilson, as well as the iconic Lizard Head spire. Birds such as the Western Tanager and Broad-tailed Hummingbird are found in this environment, and butterflies such as the Ruddy Copper can be seen. And, of course, wildflowers are abundant at the height of summer, with numerous species of Indian Paintbrush and sneezeweed, aster, monkshood, and wild geranium, with many more.
