Original watercolor painting, 'Moose in the Northern Woods', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. I was thinking of the bogs and marshes of northern Minnesota when painting the background for this piece, but moose can be found throughout the colder climates of northern North America, from Minnesota, Wyoming, Montana, and Colorado up into Canada and Alaska and many other places. Here, a bull is walking through the water-logged soil of an open water area in a deciduous spruce and fir forest.
