Artist's Description
Original watercolor painting, 'Fairy Slipper', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. The Fairy Slipper, also known as Calypso Orchid, is a very small wild orchid that grows close to the ground in certain places in the coniferous forests of the Rocky Mountains - shortly after the snow melts, usually in May. It has vivid pink-purple petals, with some striping. It's bloom is only an inch or two high, with the delicate petals extending outwards, but of course this painting is significantly larger than life!
