'Tree Shapes Against a Wintry Sky', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. Old, stately oaks twist in contours and angles towards the sky, their branches and bark accented by freshly fallen snow. Morning sunlight starts to break through some of the clouds, and there is a hint of blue sky before the clouds cover the landscape again and more snow begins to fall. This scene was taken in Thornton, Colorado, which is a suburb north of the city of Denver.
