Artist's Description
'Matterhorn Sunrise', a landscape photograph by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. Matterhorn Peak is a mountain immediately adjacent to Wetterhorn Peak, and rises in the San Juans range of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. It is in the Uncompahgre Wilderness, north of the community of Lake City. Here, at sunrise in mid summer, the lush green meadows blanketing the slopes of this peak are filled with blooming wildflowers, including Rosy Paintbrush, Western Paintbrush, Alpine Avens, and Western Bistort - pink, white, yellow, and cream colored flowers. The names of these peaks were obviously taken from the famous Swiss Alps peaks. A Graduated Filter was used to achieve this photograph.
