Original watercolor painting, 'Rainbow Starfrontlet', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. The Rainbow Starfrontlet is a hummingbird found in certain tropical regions of Ecuador and Peru. The mail has a crest filled with iridescent colors of the rainbow, and it also has iridescent green and purplish plumage on its throat and upper chest. It has bright rufous wings and tail. I chose to paint this bird in flight, as it approaches impressions of flowers, with a variety of colors filling the background.
