Original watercolor painting, 'Feeling Minnesota', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. This piece features a solitary moose near a still pool of water in late autumn, right as frost and ice is entering the landscape. I was channeling my memories and impressions of the birch, maple, and pine forests, lakes, and bogs of northern Minnesota when creating the background of this painting. This is more abstract in style, as I was not wanting to create the details of the moose; rather, I was wanting to convey the shapes and features of the animal and its surrounding environment.
