Original watercolor painting, 'Common Loon Pair', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. These beautiful, graceful birds are of the north -- breeding in the mixed pine and birch forests of the northern United States up into Canada. They are mesmerizing to watch, as they swim through the peaceful waters of northern lakes. This piece was inspired by a pair I observed one summer morning, shortly after sunrise, while hiking and camping near Tettegouche State Park and Lake Superior, along the Superior Hiking Trail in northern Minnesota. This piece would be perfect for those who grew up watching and hearing these magical birds, or for any bird lover!
