Artist's Description
Original watercolor painting, 'Climbing Mount Elbert', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. This painting is based off of a scene I came across many summers ago while ascending the 14er (fourteener) Mount Elbert, just a few hundred feet below the summit. From this point, looking towards the north, Mount Massive could be seen. Both Mount Massive and Mount Elbert have an elevation of over 14,000 feet. Rising between Leadville and Buena Vista, these peaks are popular hiking destinations. Here, in early July, vivid blue-purple Sky Pilot wildflowers are growing between the rocks in the alpine soil. A bright, clear blue sky shines overhead.
About Cascade Colors
Fine art photography and watercolor paintings! My passions in photography are landscapes and nature, capturing these elements in winter, spring, summer, and fall, in all types of terrain and locations around the world. I aim to capture the natural beauty of the world around me, and my philosophy is to use minimal amounts of post-processing. NO AI, no altered backgrounds, no filters, no effects, everything shot in RAW. The themes of my watercolor paintings are most commonly natural landscapes, wildlife, and scenes from my travels. I particularly focus on color and wet-on-wet effects. In terms of style, I enjoy experimenting with various styles. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Also, feel free to send me...
