Description
Original watercolor painting, 'Birds of San Isidro', by Lynn Cyrus /Cascade Colors. San Isidro is a bird lodge on the western slope of the Andes, in northern Ecuador, an hour or two away from Quito. Many of the birds seen on this side of the mountains and cloud forest are not see on the eastern slope; birds are very specialized in terms of location in this country! While several hundreds of species have been sighted at this lodge, I have chosen only a small number of species to feature in this piece, which include: Rufous-crowned Tody Flycatcher, Andean Cock-of-the-Rock, Long-tailed Antbird, Collared Inca, Fawn-breasted Brilliant, Golden-headed Quetzal, Inca Jay, Cinnamon Flycatcher, Barred Becard, Gray-breasted Wood Wren, Beryl-spangled Tanager, Black-capped Tanager, Chestnut-crowned Antpitta, Green-and-black Fruiteater, Turquoise Jay, Scarlet-bellied Mountain Tanager, Black-capped Tanager, and Spotted Barbtail. This piece would be perfect as a t-shirt, as well as a fine art print or other interior decor item for those who love these neotropical birds and perhaps have even visited this particular wildlife preserve!
