'Rocky Mountain Morning Landscape and Gray's Peak', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. I found the lighting in this scene very interesting and captivating, with sunlight hitting portions of the distant mountain slopes and soft diffused light covering the meadow in the foreground. This summer landscape was taken along the trail towards Gray's and Torrey's Peaks, two mountains in the Front Range of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. In early August, when this landscape photograph was taken, the alpine meadows above treeline are still filled with the orange red blooms of Indian Paintbrush wildflowers. Gray's and Torreys are both 14er (fourteener) mountains, mountains of elevation 14,000 feet or higher. These mountains are popular hiking destinations.
