'Mount Crested Butte Early Evening Summer', a fine art mountain landscape photograph by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. Mount Crested Butte, a ski community, lies just north of Crested Butte. This part of the Colorado Rocky Mountains is known for its abundant wildflowers and sun-drenched wide open meadows covering the mountain slopes and lower elevations. By late June, flowers are abundant in these lower elevations. Here, in early evening, the lighting is perfect and peaceful, highlighting the peaks in the distance as well as the balsamroot (members of the sunflower family) and lupine wildflowers in the meadow. A fence adds character to this composition.
