Description
'Indian Peaks Wildflowers and Waterfalls', a mountain landscape photograph by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. The Indian Peaks Wilderness Area is a beautiful preserved wilderness lying within the Front Range of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, near the communities of Eldora and Nederland. In my experience it is the best location in the Front Range to view and photograph summer wildflowers; there are many moisture-rich open meadows in the alpine and along the mountain slopes. In mid August, wildflowers are still abundant in this area near King Lake. Here, a fresh alpine stream flows down the slope, creating small cascades and waterfalls in its descent. The stream is lined with lush clumps of vegetation and wildflowers, including the Rosy Paintbrush and Indian Paintbrush in the foreground. Mountain peaks rise in the background, and a clear intense blue sky shines overhead.
