'Gray's and Torrey's', a landscape photograph by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. Gray's and Torrey's, two 14er (fourteener) peaks rising high in the Front Range of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, are over 14,000 feet in elevation. Side by side, these peaks are often ascended one after the other, in the same day, by hikers. In mid summer, late July, wildflowers are still at peak; here, this alpine meadow is densely filled with red Indian Paintbrush and yellow Alpine Avens flowers. The peaks, still covered with patches of snow, rise in the background towards the sky.

My passions in photography are landscapes and nature, capturing these elements in winter, spring, summer, and fall, in all types of terrain and locations around the world. I aim to capture the natural beauty of the world around me, and my philosophy is to use minimal amounts of post-processing, so that what you see is very much what it looked like in person, in terms of lighting, colors, and shadow. The themes of my watercolor paintings are most commonly natural landscapes, wildlife (primarily birds! I adore birds!), and scenes from my travels.
