Description
Colorado mountain landscape photograph, 'Evening Sunset at Navaho Lake', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. Evening lighting can change from one second to the next; in this particular moment the colors are soft, without any harsh shadows, and the alpine lake is still with surrounding mountains reflected. This is one of the most lovely lakes I have had the fortune to visit. Taken at Navajo Lake, in the Lizard Head Wilderness Area, in the San Juans range of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, Wilson Peak, El Diente, and Mount Wilson peaks, all 14er (fourteener) mountains, rise all around. Fourteeners are mountains with an elevation of 14,000 feet or higher. Telluride is a popular tourist destination not too far from this wilderness space, though to reach this lake, one has to hike many miles in.
