'Colorado Columbine in the Alpine', a fine art mountain landscape and nature photograph by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. I have hiked this beautiful trail several times over the years, but apparently have never gotten the timing quite right in a given year, as this is the first time wildflowers were very abundant over all of the land. Species varied by elevation and habitat, and here, Blue Columbine dominated the landscape in the rocky, steep terrain in the alpine above treeline. A mountain peak rises above and a bright blue sky shines overhead in this beautiful Rocky Mountain wilderness.
