Description
'Blanca Peak and Ellingwood Point', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors - A Colorado summer landscape photograph taken within the Sangre de Cristos range of the Rocky Mountains. The geologic details of the mountains are beautiful to behold at elevations far above treeline. Mountain ridges and peaks expand into the distance. Blanca Peak, a large 14er mountain, rises in the center of this landscape, viewed from the slopes of Mount Lindsey. Ellingwood Point is also visible in this image, directly to the right/behind of Blanca. 14ers are popular hiking destinations, and are mountains which have an elevation of over 14,000 feet. Taken in late July, this image also reflects the alpine meadows blanketing the lower elevations of these beautiful mountains in the Rockies.
