'Atop Redcloud Peak', by Cascade Colors / Lynn Cyrus. Redcloud is a 14er that lies in southwest Colorado, near Lake City. A 14er is a mountain peak that rises 14,000 feet or more above sea level. This is near the summit of this peak, and the trail leads you along the ridge of this peak, and continues to the adjacent fourteener, Sunshine Peak. Patches of snow still remain in mid July here in the San Juans. Clouds begin to gather overhead; in this case, they did not mean rain. This particular mountain peak is a vivid orange-red color.
