Original watercolor painting, 'Waterfall in the San Juans', by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. This piece was inspired by the beautiful large waterfall near the top of Cataract Gulch, before entering the alpine basin. This is located in the San Juans range of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, near Lake City. I saw this scene in mid summer, when the Parry's Primrose and Bittercress wildflowers were in bloom along the streams and between the boulders. Pine trees rose all around me in the middle of this pine forest.
