'Spring Rocky Mountain Landscape', a photograph by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. Believe it or not (given my multiple years of landscape photography here in Colorado!), this was my first time to encounter native dandelion wildflowers in bloom, en mass, on the slopes of the Rocky Mountains. These vivid wildflowers spread all along this open meadow, lining a stream bed, creating beautiful color in contrast with the bright blue sky and the aspen trees that were only beginning to leaf out. Mountain peaks rise in the background, the rock characteristic of this region near the Maroon Bells, near Aspen Colorado.
