Artist's Description
Warm golds and browns fill this meadow in early autumn. Aspen forests in the background are only beginning to turn color, and El Diente, Mount Wilson, and Wilson Peak rise in the background in this part of the Lizard Head Wilderness Area, in the San Juans range of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, not too far from Telluride. These mountains are 14er (fourteener) mountains, mountains of elevation 14,000 feet or higher. These mountains are popular hiking destinations.
